A New Vemo

Mar 19, 2025Release3 min read

Vemo 1.8 is so different, it's almost a new app.

For 1.8, we decided on a new direction for Vemo. After talking to our customers, we realized that almost all of our users use Vemo for work. So rather than being an AI note taker that's like a swiss army knife to also summarize YouTube video, podcasts, school lectures, etc., we want to just focus on work, and build features specifically to help you work better.

To this end, the headline features of 1.8 are:

  • Greatly Improved Notes Quality
  • Action Items
  • Magic Edit
  • Brand New Look

Greatly Improved Notes Quality

The most important feature of Vemo will always be the quality its notes. To be totally frank, we weren't happy with the quality of notes prior to 1.8. We are happy to report that the notes quality is night and day compared to previous versions.

Here are some of the improvements:

  • Notes now follow a consistent structure, with an overview followed by concise bullet points one- or two-levels deep
  • Key figures in the notes, such as as dates and numbers, are highlighted in bold.
  • Notes are more comprehensive, capturing all key points of discussion.
  • We have improved the font, line spacing, and added color, so the notes are easier to read and more pleasing to the eyes.
  • We have improved the quality of writing, so they are more clear and actionable – ideal for business.

Action Items

Don't you hate it when you have meetings and nothing gets done? The new Action Items feature will keep you accountable, so you don't just meet, but you actually make progress.

At the top of every meeting notes, you will see clear action items picked out from your discussion. You can quickly delete the ones that don't apply to you, and check off items as you complete them.

Also, from the home screen, you can tap the Action Items tab and see all of your action items in one single to-do list. It's like having a human assistant to remind you what to do everyday.

We believe after a while of using this feature, you will observe that not only do you meet, you are also making progress in your work.

Magic Edit

Even though Vemo tries hard to generate the best notes possible, sometimes, it may miss some details or you want it to elborate more on a certain point. Magic Edit lets make such enhancements to an existing notes by simply talking.

To access Magic Edit, just tap the magic wand icon on the bottom of the meeting notes. Then, tap the "Tell Me What to Change" button and describe whatever enhancements you want to make to the notes.

Here are examples of what you could say:

  • "Add an agenda section"
  • "Add more detail to the section about upcoming events"
  • "Remove any mention of pricing"
  • "Write an executive summary and put it on top"
  • "Vemo is spelled v-e-m-o"

We believe Vemo is the first AI note taker to have a feature of this kind.

Brand New Look

To reflect our new focus on work, we are introducing a brand new look and feel. The new blue color theme is both professional and easy on the eyes. There is a new logo that reflects Vemo's function better. And almost every part of the user interface is redesigned.

This does mean we are saying good-bye to the old logo. But we think it has served its purpose well.
